The Past

In February 1993, God led Mr. Mike, Ms. Jane and Sarah to join Children’s Bible Ministries becoming the Director at Camp Ta-Pa-Win-Go. Mr. Mike had served for 20 years as a C-141 pilot with the United States Air Force. Ms. Jane loved her role as a full time Mom and Sarah was just nine years old. When Cecil Burkett moved to CBM in Georgia, Mr. Mike became the ministry director. In February, 2000, Mr. Mike resigned as director due to Ms. Jane’s failing health and their increased involvement with Released Time in Johnson County. Ms. Jane died in September, 2005.

The Present

Mr. Mike supports the Johnson County Released Time program which includes six schools and approximately 1050 students, almost 80% of the boys and girls in 1st through 8th grade. He also coordinates the Johnson County mailbox lessons and the summer Vacation Bible Camp. Keep praying for continued physical strength to combat his multiple sclerosis.

The Future

Continued faithfulness without presumption.

Ms. Jane's and Mr. Mike's Life Verse

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous!
Do not tremble or be dismayed,
for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9

There is a story attributed to Cherokee wisdom:
One evening a grandfather was teaching his young grandson
about the internal battle that each person faces.
“There are two wolves struggling inside each of us,” the old man said.
“One wolf is vengefulness, anger, resentment, self-pity, fear . . .
“The other wolf is compassion, faithfulness, hope, truth, love . . .”
The grandson sat, thinking, then asked: “Which wolf wins, Grandfather?”
His grandfather replied, “The one you feed.”

Galatians 5:22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control;
against such things there is no law.

Which wolf are you feeding?
